ChatGPT Ads Agency
Not an agency — one person who builds your campaign and works it by hand every week. ChatGPT Ads is months old, which makes this the cheapest attention on the internet right now.
Setup, context hints, conversion measurement and weekly management. Your ad spend goes straight to OpenAI on your own card.
What is the cheapest way to get a website up for my small cafe?
A few options. A site builder is the fastest: pick a template, add your content and you can be live the same day.

Basics
What ChatGPT Ads actually is
OpenAI began testing ads in ChatGPT in the US on 9 February 2026. After a closed pilot running February to April, access opened through self-serve onboarding in Ads Manager Beta, and the available-country list has widened steadily since. If your billing entity sits in a listed country, you can open an account at ads.openai.com and put a campaign live yourself.
Ads appear below a ChatGPT response, labelled as sponsored and visually separated from it. They are not shown to accounts identified as belonging to under-18s, and they never appear in Temporary Chats.
One distinction matters more than any other: ads do not influence what ChatGPT says. In OpenAI's own words the ads system runs on separate infrastructure from the chat model, and advertisers cannot shape, rank or alter responses. You are buying a slot beneath the answer, not a place inside it — and knowing that sets what you should expect from the channel.
The system also keeps ads away from sensitive context. Nothing serves next to personal health, mental health or political conversations, and political advertising is banned outright.
Who sees the ads?
Your audience is free and Go users. The paying power tiers carry no ads at all.
Format
What the ad unit is made of
Six parts, all of them yours to control. Three of them — title, copy and landing page — are also signals that decide which conversation your ad turns up in.

3Your business site in 5 minutes, no coding
414 templates, 47 industry presets. No credit card needed, live in minutes.
Advertiser name
Your brand as it appears on the unit.
Favicon
The small logo pulled from your domain.
Title
The headline — the heaviest text signal in matching.
Copy
The short description under the headline.
Image
The creative that fills the unit.
Landing page
Where the click goes. Its content feeds matching too.
Comparison
It is not Google Ads
A ChatGPT campaign built on Google Ads instincts will most likely burn money. The differences that matter:
Targeting
No keywords — context hints instead
At ad group level you write text describing the conversations where your product may be relevant. OpenAI is explicit that these are not exact-match keywords and guarantee no delivery.
A hint that works
Describes the intent and the situation.
Cafe, restaurant or small business owners setting up their first website
Conversations comparing site builders like Wix or WordPress and asking about cost
People wanting to move a menu online or set up a QR menu
A hint that burns budget
The Google Ads habit: one word, no context.

Hints like these either never serve at all, or drop your ad into conversations that have nothing to do with you.

Your context hints
Advertisers never get access to conversations, chat history or memories. All that reaches them is aggregated, non-identifying performance data such as views and clicks. Most of the work on this page lives right here: building the intent map, writing the hints, then reading what converted and rewriting them every week.
Platform economics
How ChatGPT Ads pricing works
This is OpenAI's side of the bill. You pay it directly on your own card; it is separate from anything I charge.
Three objectives, two billing models
Views buys impressions on a max CPM bid. Clicks optimises for traffic on a max CPC bid. Conversions optimises toward a supported standard conversion event — and conversion campaigns billed per click (oCPC) charge for valid clicks, not for conversions.
Relevance-weighted second price
You set the bid at ad group level. Selection runs through a relevance-weighted second-price auction, so the winner is the most relevant sufficiently competitive ad rather than simply the highest bidder.
Budget and reporting
A daily budget sets an average: the published limits are twice that in an account-local day and seven times in a Sunday-to-Saturday week. Reporting covers impressions, clicks, spend, CTR, average CPC, average CPM and conversions. Clicks land within minutes; spend lags behind.
Starting bid
The max CPC range OpenAI recommends starting at for click campaigns.
Ads Manager also shows bid-strength guidance telling you whether a bid is likely to be competitive or to limit delivery. Bid too low and the ad simply never serves.
The platform is still beta. OpenAI says itself that no performance benchmarks exist yet across advertisers, industries or campaign types, and that delivery and spend can fluctuate as its systems improve. Anyone guaranteeing you ROAS on this channel in week one is inventing it. The right approach is to learn on a small budget, then scale what worked.
Service
Setup plus weekly management
The account built from nothing in the first month, then worked by hand every week after that. No autopilot — on a platform this new, automation is not trustworthy yet.
Setup
- Account creation at ads.openai.com, verification and billing setup
- Campaign / ad group / ad hierarchy built around how you actually sell
- Intent map: which kinds of conversation you want to appear under
- Writing the context hints — the most decisive part of the campaign
- Ad copy (title and description) and creative assets
- Landing page review and opening access to OpenAI's web crawlers
- Conversion measurement, a UTM scheme and a separate GA4 channel
- First campaign launched and taken through ad review
Weekly management
- Bid and budget adjustments, pacing kept under control
- Rewriting context hints based on what actually converts
- A/B tests on ad copy and creative
- Spend and conversion checks, wasted traffic cut off
- Resolving policy rejections and non-serving ads
- A short weekly report: spend, impressions, clicks, CTR, avg CPC, conversions
Pricing
What decides the price
There is no fixed list price for ChatGPT Ads management. These are the items that move it. Your ad spend is never part of my fee — it goes straight to OpenAI on your card, and the account is opened in your name and stays yours.
Pricing factors
- Number of campaigns and ad groups the account needs
- How many products or services sit behind the context hints
- Creative production: whether ad images and copy exist or are built from scratch
- Whether the landing page needs work before it is worth sending paid traffic to
- Conversion measurement complexity (pixel, feed, mobile measurement partner)
- Reporting cadence — weekly versus monthly
- Setup only, or setup plus ongoing weekly management
Clear quote
Thirty-minute fit call, written quote
Tell me your product, your audience and what your landing page does today. You get an honest read on whether this channel suits you, and a quote if it does.
Process
From fit call to weekly iteration
Fit call
Thirty minutes on your product, your audience and your landing page, to see whether ChatGPT Ads suits you at all. If it does not, I say so up front.
Intent map
What your customer actually types into ChatGPT. Not a keyword list — a map of the conversations that lead to a buying decision.
Setup
Account, hierarchy, context hints, creative, measurement and the first campaign. The account is opened in your name and stays yours.
First three weeks: learning
A small budget across several hint and copy variations. The goal is not to spend it, but to learn which conversations convert.
Weekly iteration
Every week I read the data and rewrite hints, bids and copy. Short report by email or WhatsApp.
Fit
This channel is not for everyone
The biggest risk with a new channel is selling it to a business it does not suit. If you fall into the second list, I will tell you on the call and point your budget somewhere better.
Good fit
- Businesses with a clear product or service
- Anyone whose landing page is ready, or can be made ready
- B2C brands with a monthly ad budget to commit
- High-intent B2B services with a long research cycle
Not right now
- Political advertising — not allowed in ChatGPT at all
- Anyone expecting placement beside personal health or mental health conversations
- Anyone expecting clean ROAS in week one — the platform is still beta
- Businesses with no landing page that sell purely over the phone
